Struggling to connect

SolarRecycling.com is a fairly new entrant in the solar industry. Brian Musil, the company’s founder, launched the business in 2019. Although Brian is not new to resale and recycling (he’s got twenty years of experience working in the IT asset disposition industry), he found it challenging to connect with other solar companies.

“Connecting with companies in this solar niche has consistently posed challenges,” explains Brian. “I understand that the solar industry is largely a relationship-oriented business, which is something I’m used to in the IT industry. But when I started SolarRecycling.com, I didn’t expect it to be so hard to make connections.”

Even with an R2v3 certification in hand, Brian and the solar specialist hired to help oversee the business, Daniel Martinez, found it difficult to break into the industry. They began to look for a solution that would provide networking opportunities and a resale option for PV hardware.

Connecting with pre-qualified buyers

From Brian’s perspective, whatever solution they decided on had to meet his primary objective, which was to establish connections with industry leaders that presented lucrative opportunities for the company’s reuse and recycling services.

Typically, SolarRecycling.com works with energy and utility companies, solar installers, construction contractors, O&M managers, agricultural companies, universities, and commercial solar operators to decommission solar farms and rooftop arrays. Such projects require a streamlined process of assessing and testing solar panels and other components, repair and refurbishment, remarketing, and responsible recycling.

By joining EnergyBin, Brian was able to connect to pre-qualified companies in need of decommissioning services as well as manage his resale business in an efficient manner.

“EnergyBin has proven to be an invaluable tool for introducing us to potential business partners and networking opportunities. We log in daily to connect with other members via the directory. Plus, we send broadcast emails about products available for resale, which helps to build awareness about our company.”

Brian and his team have expanded their resale business to include remarketing excess hardware, which is often new and under warranty on behalf of their clients. They will also search for replacement parts to purchase upon clients’ requests.

“We’re flexible with respect to our clients’ needs because we want them to know that our intention to build a lasting relationship is genuine. We work to please our clients, and EnergyBin makes it easy to build and maintain these relationships.”

EnergyBin helps attain business objectives

Shortly after joining EnergyBin, Brian discovered how simple it was to send a broadcast email to a specific audience and to connect with another member on a phone call. With the help of his EnergyBin account manager, who personally introduced him to key members, Brian was soon connecting with companies on a global scale, which led to the international expansion of SolarRecycling.com’s services.

“An EnergyBin membership offers opportunities to connect with industry peers, expand global reach, and streamline transactions, making it an asset for any business in the field.”

Additionally, Brian’s team saw an increase in referrals from happy customers who shared their experiences with other members. The early success has earned EnergyBin a place in SolarRecycling.com’s daily toolkit.

“Joining EnergyBin opens doors to a thriving network that revolutionized our business growth and simplified our operations.”
